I don't know why we had to RSVP Joann. I was thinking the same thing. I'm waiting for my invite too. :-) So yes, maybe they were taking a head count or seeing how many fans were paying attention by actually having their fans respond to the RSVP. IDK, but I guess we shall see :-)

I agree the new song doesn't have the same tone as their earlier music (such as Avery),.. but I do like Drive By because it has a catchy up beat tone to it just like the chorus of Hey Soul Sister and Shake up Christmas. I love their earlier music as well and feel that as Train has grown and developed as a band and in their personal lives, their music has evolved as well. I believe they still have their soulful sound, but they have added a new, happy vibe in SMSF and Drive By. These guys are so artistically and musically talented that they are able to reach across music genres and succeed while doing so! Why? Because they are that good!  You don't have to be a musical genius to recognize phenomenal talent when you hear and see Train play... you just feel it! Besides, if all their songs sounded the same and didn't have a different vibe to it as the years go by, then I would become 'bored' with their musical limitations. Train expanding their horizons across musical genres allows us to expand with them during their journey. Personally, I'm enjoying my Train ride.

Hey Joann... There are several of us out here that feel the same way you do about the RSVP. When Pat said that it will "blow your mind," well, Yes, I like the the new song, but I almost feel like I was.... I'd rather not say, because Train is my favorite band, and I don't want to think negatively. I support our guys wholeheartedly, enjoy their concerts, and wish each one of them my personal best. I like old-school Train, too, but this new one is growing on me. All of the great ones do it... change up with the times, but are still able to keep their roots..when the disco era came upon us, Rod Stewart didn't sit down, he recorded "If Ya Think I'm Sexy." Other artists have done similar things over the years, even joining up with other great artists recording brand new songs... I just don't want our guys to sit down again... nor do I want them to lose their roots... Pat's still talking about the listening party, so maybe this year WILL HOLD MUCH MORE GREAT TRAIN THINGS for them - and US! :)
